Congratulations to our 2025 Scholarship Recipients!
Each year, Epilepsy Reach awards students living with epilepsy an educational scholarship in an effort to offset costs associated with higher education. We would like to congratulate our 2025 scholarship recipients and wish them well in their future endeavors.
Hi! I am Robert Hinton. I live in Raleigh, NC. I am attending William Peace. I come from a large family who has supported me completely through my epilepsy journey. I have a diagnosis of SCN8A epilepsy and have had my sidekick, Dragon (service dog) for the past 8 years.
My name is Kory Lloyd, and I am deeply honored to be one of this year’s recipients of the Epilepsy Reach Foundation Scholarship. This fall, I will begin my freshman year at Clark University, where I’ll be studying Political Science and playing on the women’s soccer team—two dreams I have worked hard to achieve. I was diagnosed with epilepsy during my freshman year of high school, and while the journey has not been easy, and there were moments of fear and uncertainty, I have learned that strength comes from persistence, hope, and the support of others. I carry this scholarship as a reminder that challenges do not limit us—they shape us. And to anyone living with epilepsy: you are capable of more than you know.
Gabriella Badami is a jewelry student at the Savannah College of Art and Design with a passion for inclusive, purpose-driven design. After being diagnosed with epilepsy in 2022, she began designing eyewear that helps reduce light-triggered seizures. Her dream is to work for brands like Marchon Eyewear or EssilorLuxottica while championing accessibility and visibility for the epileptic community. She is committed to using her craft to make fashion both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
My name is Savannah Keifer and I have had epilepsy since I was two years old. Throughout the years I have done alot of advocating for epilepsy, as I have gone to Washington D.C. three different times, I have been to Nashville TN for a epilepsy convention and spoke on there panel, and I started a house concurrent resolution for the state of South Dakota. With the help of the epilepsy reach foundation I will go further in helping the epilepsy community.
My name is Caden Bolton and I am honored to be selected as Epilepsy Reach Foundation Scholarship! My epilepsy journey began as a high school freshman when I suffered my first seizure playing whiffle ball with friends in my front yard. It sidelined so many activities that I loved including football. However, through my challenges, I learned to fill these voids through service to others in my church and community. I will be attending Samford University in Birmingham, AL this fall to major in Finance and plan to continue to serve in opportunities in which I can outreach to others who have walked a similar path. Thank you for helping me reach my goals through this scholarship!
Hello, my name is Hines Busby from Salisbury, North Carolina. I’m attending Wake Forest University this fall and very excited to get started. I love playing and watching all kinds of sports and hanging out with friends and family. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been on the soccer field. After college, I plan to turn my love of sports into a career in the sports marketing industry.
Again, thanks so much. This scholarship is helping me realize my dreams.
